NOTE: Our iFightBack IR camera can be used for both visible red laser or invisible infrared lasers.

.

The iFightBack IR USB Camera was designed as a CCTV Security Camera and not a Webcam. Therefore a few things will be different from what you may be familiar with. On a webcam there will be no physical adjustment controllers. All adjustments such as focus and zoom (if there is a zoom control) are usually done automatically or by the software. The iFightBack camera has the zoom (2.8 to 12mm) and the focus as manual controls.

.

To adjust either the focus or zoom you will need to loosen the locking screw just a bit to allow the control to turn. Be careful to not unscrew too much as the screw thread part is very short and will come out if unscrewed too much. Once you have both the focus and zoom adjusted you can tighten the locking screw just barely finger tight to keep the control from turning in the future.

Since the focus and zoom are both manual you will need to adjust the two together in steps. As you adjust the zoom, the camera will go out of focus so you will need to adjust the focus to keep up with the zoom adjustment and visa versa.

A standard webcam usually has a hinge to tilt the camera up or down. The iFightBack camera does not. For this reason it is best to mount the iFightBack camera on a tripod. An inexpensive tripod can be had for as little as $18. See here for an example on Amazon.

Another thing you will notice is that, being an infrared camera, it sees more light than the standard camera. It is taking in not only the visible light spectrum which ends at around 740nm but also the invisible light spectrum up to the 850nm wave length. For this reason, you may need to make your room just a little dimmer than you would for a standard camera. The iFightBack program should be able to adjust for normal "cozy" room light but, if the program is having a hard time, try dimming your room light a bit or dimming your projector or TV brightness controls. In the iFightBack program see Help -> Laser Videos for information about adjusting the brightness or backlight controls on your projector or TV

See laser cartridge selection for information about selecting a laser cartridge, whether red or infrared, or about replacement SIRT laser modules for SIRT training pistols.

As always, if you are having problems, contact us or go to the Help menu pad at the top left of the screen (not the Help box on the screen) and go to Tech Support -> Send email to tech support...
